Mission & Vision
Mission Statement (basic)
To welcome and equip international neighbors of all ages with the educational services and other supports needed to thrive in their new home.
Mission Statement (extended)*
To provide a community of welcome, support, education, and cultural exchange for international neighbors of all ages living in our area by offering weekly ESL classes, conversation partnerships, homework help and tutoring, special preschool programming, monthly social events, and connection to our networks and the many resources available to them.
We, as followers of Jesus Christ, do this to express the love of God, to bring encouragement and good news to the vulnerable, and to follow the teachings of the Bible regarding hospitality towards internationals living among us away from family, from old networks of support, and from all that was familiar and easier in their native home countries.
Vision Statement*
We aspire to get the opportunities we can offer to every international neighbor within our reach who wants them and to become a model program inspiring the Church in this region to lead in welcoming and supporting our international neighbors well, sharing all we learn and create together with church communities in each city of Porter and Lake Counties.
* The extended mission statement and the vision statement are currently working statements not yet approved by the board.
Note: A set of values is also being written to be approved by the board. These will be released and can be added to your manual in the future.
